Just reminiscing with my son about my trip to Israel in 1961 during which time I had the pleasure of staying at the Rohr home. I had traveled via ship with Mr. Rohr's niece and a group from the Hebrew Culture Council. While at the Rohr home, I slept in his studio and vividly remember seeing the picture of the Student From Ghana hanging on the wall. I am sorry to learn of the Rohrs' passing. I think this website is a very nice tribute.
What a wonderful legacy. I do have a painting,which I purchased from him in his studio in Jerusalem on 7/6/93. It is of a tree in the Negev, which as he described to me, he saw as he was returning with his family, and told them to go on to Jerusalem, and he painted the tree in the desert. It was on his wall above a picture of his son in uniform. While having a wonderful discussion with your uncle, I was mesmerized by the painting, and kept looking at it, finally asked if it was for sale. (I remember that distinctly). I brought it back with me from Israel. I will photograph it, and send it to you. It's an incredible painting, and I have always been thrilled to have it.
